What Are Remainder Marks?
Remainder marks are small marks, usually made with a felt-tip pen or stamp, on the edge of a book. These marks indicate that the book was returned to the publisher from bookstores, often because it was overstocked or didn't sell as expected. Despite these marks, the books are never read and in excellent condition.
Where Do These Books Come From?
Our books typically come from publishers who are clearing out excess inventory to make room for new titles. These books are often overstock from bookstores or unsold copies from large print runs.
Book Condition
When purchasing from Northbound Book Nook, you can expect our books to be in excellent condition. They are unread and free from any significant damage. The only notable feature is the remainder mark, which does not affect the book's readability or overall quality. Enjoy great savings on a wide variety of books while adding fantastic titles to your collection!
What are your shipping options?
We offer shipping across Canada with the following options:
Flat Rate Expedited Shipping: $12.95
Free Shipping: For orders over $99
Additionally, we provide local in-town delivery for $5, with free delivery on purchases over $99. Local delivery is available only on Fridays and covers Swastika, Chaput Hughes, Kirkland Lake, and King Kirkland.
What is your return policy?
Due to the nature of our items being books, we do not offer change-of-mind returns. However, we accept returns if the item arrives damaged. Though very uncommon, if your book arrives damaged, please contact our customer service team for assistance with returns.

Do you sell books to Amazon sellers or vendors on third-party platforms?
No, we do not sell to Amazon sellers or vendors on any third-party seller platforms. Some of our vendors have contractual obligations that prevent us from supplying books for resale on these platforms. Buyers who are found reselling our books on third-party marketplaces will have their future purchases canceled.

Do you allow pets in your store?
No, we do not allow pets in the store. However, service animals are always welcome!
